Typical day in your life

No day is everrrrr the same for me. A typical day back in Melbourne in preparation for a photoshoot could entail catching up on emails first thing in the morning. Speaking with clients, brands and designers. Taking notes and doing some research before making style boards to share with the client. Having fittings and doing collections all over town. Then packing multiple suitcases and I make sure my kit is full. Then race off to a work event and catch up with the girls (my favourite part of the job is always bumping into my girlfriends that also work in the industry)

How did you get into styling?

I interned at brands in Melbourne and London & reached out to as many stylists as I could to work under them and be a sponge. I built a portfolio of work to share on social media and showcase what I could provide. Working with Lana was such a big thing for me, she was my biggest role model when I was studying my bachelors in Fashion so working for Lana & her brand was a dream come true.

What were you doing prior?

I worked in retail knowing full well exactly where I wanted to end up and what my dreams were. I enjoyed putting looks together for customers in the fitting rooms and making them feel good and confident so much I knew I wanted to make a career of it.

The best and most challenging part of your job?

The best part about my job is connecting with so many like minded individuals and also seeing a vision come to life. The most challenging part I find is probably short deadlines and pieces not arriving when you would like them to, which creates a bit of problem solving, I have learnt through this process though that it wasn’t meant to arrive because a better idea was about to form, in turn loving this outcome more than the original plan.
