In my work as a stylist, the second half of the Australian event and fashion calendar is all about statement dressing . Whether it be for a major events like Spring Racing or finding that perfect Christmas, New Year or summer party look. I kept this at the forefront of my mind when collaborating with Asilio for my dress design. My personal style is quite classic with a modern and fashionable edge. Whenever I’ve collaborated with a designer for a red carpet event or with a client, the dress has always had a statement feature; an open back, embellishment or statement shoul-der. It’s the smallest details that can elevate a look. I’ll always try and incorporate trends or colour into the styling of my looks, but I tend to invest in more timeless pieces in black and white. This way my wardrobe doesn’t become stale, rather transcends seasons.
This sense of style and colour palette, along with the statement shoulder, neckline and back, is reflected in my dress design for Asilio. Black and white always looks sophisticated and has a way of elevating your look without feeling as though you’ve stepped out of your comfort zone. The silhouette is classic and the fabrication flat-tering for all women’s body shapes. My style mantra is if you’re showing one thing, cover something else up, this is also reflected in the design.
I hope the woman wearing my Asilio design to feel ‘100’ and confident in her style choice and to turn some heads at the same time. Love Lana x
