As part of the festivities of the 2016 Australian Open, I’ve partnered with The Transport Accident Commission’s (TAC) Catwalk for a Cause. The TAC is urging tennis fans across Melbourne to put their best foot forward this year with the launch of their new pedestrian safety campaign, The Look.
In 2015, 32 pedestrians lost their lives on Victorian roads, with hundreds more injured due to not paying attention when crossing roads on foot. The TAC want people to get The Look this summer and be more alert whilst walking through the city to avoid tragic accidents, especially during the Australian Open, which will see hundreds of thousands of pedestrians travelling through inner city Melbourne. People who have ‘The Look’ are connected to what’s happening around them, and that’s the hottest look on the street this summer.
I was privileged enough to style and commentate 12 looks for the Catwalk designed to grab your attention and be present in the moment. I provided some inspiration for those attending the tennis both during the day and in the evening, last week at the TAC’s ‘The Look’ activation at the Australian Open’s Festival at Melbourne’s, Birrarung Marr. So be sure to hashtag #TheLook and post a photo of yourself in support of this great cause.
