Playing dress up’s with Erin Maxwell, of fashion blog love shop share, is a very easy task. Not only because she’s a great friend, but because she is willing to push fashion boundaries whilst staying true to her own personal sense of style. This also challenges me as a stylist, as often I’m driving the entire direction, but with Erin, we are collaborating and pushing each other’s ideas. Erin is a red carpet veteran of the Brownlow and we wanted to ensure her last one; her husband, Nick Maxwell of Collingwood retired this year, would be very true to her own fashion aesthetic.
We turned to established Melbourne designer Silvana Tedesco to create the gown. We discussed concepts with Silvana and she began to sketch up several beautiful designs. Initially, we thought the dress could possibly be red, however for those that follow her on instagram or her blog, Erin is a black, white and denim girl. After much discussion, Silvana and the team had morphed the dress into a jacket style top, to give it an edge, with leather trims and statement belt. The final cut out detail, high neck wrap and open wrap skirt took the dress to another level.
She rocked it!
