The beginning of my week had been largely uneventful, keeping a low profile post New Year festivities and sourcing product for clients, ahead of The Jeep Portsea Polo. Then, a call from the amazing team behind Jeep. Melbourne based PR & events agency Romano & Beck, to source some options to for my all time favourite, fashion designer and US reality star Whitney Port, changed all that.
I admit, I was a die hard fan of her television shows,’The Hills & The City so I was very curious as to what she would be like to work with and happy to turn my week upside down.
To ensure Whitney put her best fashion foot forward, I headed straight to the top – Toni Maticevski. You can never go wrong with monochrome and the architecture of this look and Maticevski’s entire collection, is next level. Fortunately, Whitney agreed.
To give her look that Polo edge, we added the Ace of Something straw fedora and a sleek pair of Forever New white sunglasses. Whilst the predicted weather forecast of rain and showers didn’t eventuate, we were prepared for the worst, having decided on Wittner’s latest mule boot, a sleek alternative in the event the weather turned.
This humble Los Angeles’ native, in Australia with her new fiance Tim Rosenman said she loved being in Australia and like everyone else, loved the people watching. She was also all too obliging when discussing her label, Whitney Eve, her time in New York and of course, the Polo. I almost instantly felt like I was chatting to an old girlfriend.
Whitney fitted right in as the special guest of the prestigious Jeep Marquee, one of the places to be at this years Portsea Polo, saying, “From what I’ve seen everybody takes a lot of pride in what they’re wearing, everybody looks beautiful and they all look really polished, I’m really impressed”.
